Chief of party , Liberia

Chemonics seeks a chief of party for an anticipated USAID-funded land project in Liberia. The project aims to improve land rights and increase land tenure security in partnership with the Land Commission and Center for National Documents and Records Agency. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. 

Qualifications: 
  • Advanced degree in public administration, public policy, government, development studies, agriculture, economics, geography, anthropology, law, or related field, with coursework in land tenure and/or property rights required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing and/or implementing donor-funded programs, preferably with USAID in Africa or other post-conflict countries
  • Knowledgeable in two or more of the following areas: land and property rights policies, land administration, institutional reform, customary/traditional legal systems, natural resources governance, conflict mitigation, and geomatics
  • Experience engaging in policy research and in the design and implementation of related projects, including significant work related directly to the land issues mentioned above
  • Familiarity with USAID rules and regulations and experience in budgeting, procurement, and financial management
  • Previous chief of party experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity 
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
