Description:Greenpeace is seeking a highly skilled, innovative and experienced Data and Analytics Manager to provide strategic leadership, collaborative coordination, and creative problem solving to help drive the organization's very successful fundraising and campaigns programs. This is an excellent opportunity to help lead one of the industry's best sustained giving programs and drive progressive campaign victories through innovative business intelligence, funds processing, and channel analysis. The Manager will coordinate and collaborate with all departments to handle matters relating to, but not limited to, data governance, data integrity, data strategy, data reporting, and payment processing across the organization. The Data and Analytics Manager will be responsible for the management of Greenpeace's data in the fundraising, online and volunteer databases and will also oversee and manage a team of five staff members including the Decision Support Analyst, Data and Application Specialist, Production and Reporting Specialist, Database Associate and Data Fellow.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Data and Analytics Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of the organization's data strategy, which includes day-to-day operations of our three primary data systems. The systems are Team Approach, fundraising database; Luminate Online, online database; and ActiveCore, volunteer database. Specifically, the Data and Analytics Manager:

- Oversees all things related to the day-to-day smooth operations of data systems organization-wide, including integration, reporting, health, access, and integrity.
- Manages production of reporting and analytics that support all aspects of organizational data, particularly fundraising, online activity, and organizing.
- Manages relationships with large and small vendors that assist in the processing, compilation, and analyzing of data, including CRM, marketing, credit card processing, reporting, and analytical vendors.
- Manages the Data Team budget and approves expenses as necessary.
- Prioritizes projects and tasks for the Data Team to ensure the right work gets done at the right time.
- Ensures proper administrative, management and training plans.
- Manages Data Team staff (consisting of four full-time staff) to personal and team objectives.
- Develops and implements, along with the Chief Information Officer, the long-term vision and strategy of the organization's data systems.
- Performs other job duties as requested or assigned by the Chief Information Officer.

REQUIREMENTS

Skills

- Familiarity with fundraising concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Familiarity with volunteer management concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment while adhering to deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience with SQL.
- Proven ability to develop and implement systems and controls to ensure data is well managed.
- Proven ability to provide accurate and timely analysis based on data to enable informed decision making.
- Proven ability to analyze requests for reasonableness and provide advice to improve the requests.
- Experience working with a variety of platforms including Oracle, Access, MySQL, and Luminate Online.

Experience

- A minimum of five years experience in nonprofit fundraising environment with a thorough familiarity of fundraising concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Five or more years of data analysis including strong understanding of relational modeling concepts and data management best practices required.
- Minimum of five years experience working with large database.
- At least three years in a position of management, preferably managing technical and/or analytical staff.
- Experience with coordinating and facilitating the completion of large administrative projects in a timely manner.
- Proven ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
- Knowledge of environmental issues or willingness to learn.
