Senior Outreach Manager
In September 2008, GIZ established the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. AFI is the first global knowledge-sharing network designed by and for financial sector policymakers and regulators to identify and implement proven and successful policy solutions that have delivered tangible results. AFI supports its members in policy development and implementation by using a peer-to-peer learning approach, facilitating online and face-to-face exchanges, regionally and globally, supported by grants and policy research.
Your tasks Reporting to the Director of Outreach and Network Engagement, the AFI Senior Outreach Manager oversees the external communication activities of AFI. He/She also develops, coordinates and produces video projects and content rich print stories highlighting the significant contribution AFI members are making in the field of financial inclusion. The incumbent will produce original feature stories for inclusion in the AFI website on a monthly schedule, contribute an AFI organizational viewpoint to relevant financial inclusion related bogs as required and coordinate the production of original video content.
- Coordinate AFI external communication programs and provide input to annual public outreach strategies
- Oversee and coordinate the AFI Video Production, Public Relations and Online Content activities
- Coordinate regularly with AFI staff to identify subjects for financial inclusion stories that highlight the work of AFI members.
- Manage the creation and production of AFI information video projects (up to 3 per year)
- Conduct research and interviews with AFI staff and members in support of AFI stories (in close coordination with the AFI Network team)
- Contribute content for the promotion of events and other AFI related activities in close coordination with the AFI Online Content Manager
- Participate in conferences and events to enable the ONE team to stay abreast of new developments in areas of interest to AFI’s target audiences.
- Manage in the placement of AFI authored material in leading international publications
- Manage it the coordination of media requests for interviews as required
Your profile The Senior Outreach Manager has the following skills and experience:
- • Degree in Journalism, public information or related field. (or an equivalent combination of professional experience and education)
- 7-10 years of experience with working in a media production or public information office, preferably in an international setting
- Experience managing/supervising international and local staff
- Good interpersonal and interoffice skills. Excellent interviewing skills.
- Excellent English drafting and speaking skills and a demonstrated history of material written for public consumption.
- Demonstrated history of coordinating or producing short video information products
- Working knowledge of French or Spanish would be an advantage
- Experience in financial inclusion issues or international development finance would be an advantage
