Introduction of Post:
Working within the Operations Sub-Directorate, the Systems Architect - Collaborative Architecture main role is to design and implement IT system architecture and ensure its alignment with the strategic direction and governance of Information Systems and Technology Directorate.
Primary Duties
No 1 :
The post holder develops detailed architecture for current and future Collaboration, Unified Communications and Client Computing architectures inclusive of Desktop, Email, calendaring, document management, application integration, conferencing, Unified Messaging, IM, presence and mobility.
He assists for the development of short and long-term strategies for Collaboration, Unified Communications and Client Computing; that include the infrastructure, application, and service offering aspects.
No 2 :
The post holder shall ensure the smooth running and optimization of the Organization’s IT system infrastructure, and contribute to the definition and implementation of the Organization’s infrastructure standards.
No 3 :
Sharing his or her knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of technical architecture with project teams.  He or she shall ensure that any new architecture proposed is aligned with the Organization’s overall IT strategy and standards.
The post holder shall be responsible for qualifying the impact of new projects on the IT infrastructure (servers, storage system, databases, Datacentre, etc.).
The post holder may be called upon to manage a multi-disciplinary team comprising of project managers, analysts and technicians.
No 4:
The post holder shall be responsible for proposing potential enhancements to the Organization’s information systems, and remain attuned to new developments in the domain of IT in order to anticipate the future needs of the Organization.
No 5:
The post holder shall draft or validate studies or tenders related to IT system infrastructure. He or she shall also validate proposed IT architecture as part of a tender process.
The post holder contributes to drafting contracts related to IT infrastructure, and specifically the part related SLAs.
Perform any other duties as required by the supervisor.

Requirements
All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements.
Training/Education
• Engineer, University Master degree (Europe), Bachelor of Arts (US) or equivalent in the field of information technology
Language
• Professional fluency in English
Experience
• At least a 10 year experience in a large and complex IT enterprise environment (200 + servers) and Datacenters environment. 
• Strong knowledge of Collaboration platforms including email, calendaring, document management, application integration, conferencing, IM, presence, and mobility.
• Strong knowledge of Unified communications platforms.
• Knowledge of prevailing and next generation technologies
• Experience Developing Mobile and Mobility Strategies
• Experience in IT service management and delivery, supporting innovation and managing change.
Specific IT Technical and Computer Skills
• Thorough knowledge of IT infrastructure: Windows operating systems,  Unix/Linux operating systems, Windows Active Directory,  networking and information systems security principles, practices and technologies;
• Knowledge of at least some of the following technical fields is desirable: Exchange 2013, Microsoft SQL server, Lync 2013, any CMS, Social Network, Mobile Device Management,  high availability  and clustering
• Thorough understanding of Cloud computing strategies, such as SaaS, IaaS, Paas
• Demonstrated understanding of core Internet protocols and services;
• Knowledge of the principles, practices and processes of ITIL for service management.

In addition to the requirements, the following Assets and Special Aptitudes would be beneficial.
Assets:
1. Certifications  MCSE, MCITP Enterprise Administrator, ITIL V3 foundation;
2. Proficiency in a second Organization official working language (French, Spanish or Arabic);
3. Strong communication skills, both in written and oral form (public speaking and delivery of presentations);
4. Experience of oral presentations software, business intelligence and word processing software.

Working Conditions
• Remuneration for appointment on contract: The starting salary for Grade 4 is 4 284 € per month for a step 1.

• This post requires occasional travel on missions, sometimes of a long duration and at short notice.
• The incumbent will also be required to work occasional overtime based upon workload.
* The Organization plans to establish a Global Complex in Singapore by fall 2014.   Although no decisions have been made at this time as to which posts will be transferred to Singapore, acceptance of the post implies acceptance of a transfer to Singapore.
