Administrative Assistant, Communications - Chennai, India

The Need

In order for us to do our work efficiently, we need individuals with flexibility and professionalism to ensure our office is well-equipped and functioning to the best of our ability.  IJM Chennai seeks an Administrative Assistant to support and enhance the Communications team.  This position is based in Chennai and reports to the Director of Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Administrative support including organizing, filing and documentation;
  • Organize case files and case tracking system;
  • Develop relationships with vendors, negotiate agreements for services, and call for bids;
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, draft agendas and correspondence; and
  • Review documents, records and forms for accuracy, completeness and conformance to applicable policies.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Relevant work experience in administration;
  • Bachelor’s degree or beyond;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and oral English and Tamil; commensurate proof reading skills;
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite Software, and Windows XP; and
  • Organized, meticulous attention to detail.
