Artisan (Boilermaker)
Engineering Fabrication Department
The purpose of the position is to maintain and repair plant equipment and manufacture new and spare units for the plant. The incumbent will be involved in the fault finding, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment breakdown and will be required to perform repairs surrounding manufacturing and/or modifications for all types of fabrication jobs, in accordance with technical specifications, standard operating procedures and safety regulations. Other duties include maintaining plant availability and operational stability in accordance with required standards and involvement in planned maintenance, shutdowns and statutory inspection on lifting equipment. Overtime will be required.
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a recognised Trade Test Certificate as a Boilermaker or equivalent qualification and should preferably have at least 3 years’ experience in boilermaking fabrication and development. He/she must be able to read and interpret drawings and a sound knowledge of SAP Maintenance Modules will be advantageous. Good communication skills, the ability to work independently and under pressure, adaptability and proper job planning are important, along with good initiative, a strong drive for results and attention to detail. The incumbent needs to be medically fit and possess safety, health, environmental and quality awareness and adhere to the community and housekeeping standards.
