a deputy chief of party

Chemonics International seeks a deputy chief of party for an anticipated USAID-funded health project to expand the use of best practices in HIV/AIDS throughout West Africa. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities include:

Serve as the key liaison between the project and relevant counterparts Provide managerial and technical support to the chief of party Supervise project subcomponents and activities Qualifications:

Advanced degree or equivalent experience in public health, medicine, social sciences, or a related field required Minimum eight years of mid- to senior-level experience in health, specifically HIV/AIDS programming, prevention, treatment, and care Minimum five years at a senior leadership level directing a health project Minimum five years of experience living and working in a developing country Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with senior government personnel, NGO partners, U.S. and foreign government organizations, and donor partners Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of regional health issues Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity Excellent written and oral communication skills Proficiency in English and French required
