Deputy Executive Director

The Deputy Executive Director will be expected to:

  1. Report to and work closely with the Executive Director and a Board of Directors, composed of leaders from the Nigerian public, private and nonprofit sectors
  2. Support the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies for LEAP Africa’s growth
  3. Establish and manage strategic relationships with local and international partners
  4. Manage the LEAP brand, actively promoting the programmes, services and LEAP’s impact through different media.
  5. Serve as a spokesperson for LEAP, representing LEAP at local and international events
  6. Manage LEAP’s budget and ensure transparency and efficient use of the organization’s funds
  7. Devise and implement plans for monitoring, evaluating and reporting on LEAP’s programmes to stakeholders
  8. Oversee the management of LEAP’s office operations
  9. Perform other tasks as may be required to further LEAP’s objectives

Qualifications Required

  • A minimum of a post graduate degree, preference for a masters degree
  • Over 5 years of experience of managerial experience in international business or development, with a preference for work experience in the youth development and/or entrepreneurship
  • Evidence of strong fundraising and funds management skills
  • Evidence of strong networks in the Nigerian private, public and nonprofit sector
  • Demonstrable knowledge and interest in youth development and/or entrepreneurship
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Proven entrepreneurial ability and capacity to work with significant autonomy
  • A high level of integrity and preparedness to keep stakeholders informed
  • Strong indication of passion for Nigeria’s development and commitment to the developmental objectives of the entity
