FACULTY OFFICER (AD09)
Duties:
The Faculty Officer is responsible for: the implementation of registration procedures for returning postgraduate and undergraduate students; maintaining contact with students by handling telephonic and written student enquiries as well as dealing with student enquirers; implementing and maintaining various administrative processes; assisting with the co-ordination of various Faculty Committees and rendering secretarial and minuting services to adhoc Faculty committees and task groups; and assisting with the supervision of administrative assistants and student helpers. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Faculty Registrar.
Requirements:
Grade 12; a Bachelor’s degree would be an advantage.
Working knowledge of MS Office; interpersonal skills, report-writing and minute-taking skills, and organisational and administrative abilities.
Knowledge of the University systems and procedures and an understanding of higher education.
Minimum of two years experience in a University Faculty or School environment.
Ability to work constructively as part of a team, display initiative and work strategically and independently with limited supervision. Accuracy and attention to detail is of utmost importance.
