Department

Children's is the centre of dedicated Children's production in the BBC, comprising two brands - CBBC and CBeebies, and produces programmes and websites which cover a diversity of formats and subjects. The staff base is correspondingly wide ranging, encompassing skills and disciplines across interactive and tv and genres including news, factual, entertainment and drama. The Talent Manager is an integral part of a small talent team and will be responsible for talent management, development, recruitment, contracting and scheduling staff across the range of output in Children’s.

Role

In this role, you will have vision and ambition to deliver competitive and compelling schedules for the CBBC and CBeebies brands. You do not need to be a Children’s specialist but a willingness to learn the market and an understanding of audiences is essential. This role will also need you to have a strong knowledge of delivering scheduling strategies in a competitive media environment, and be able to produce ideas that will impact and raise the profile of our brands and maximise value for our audiences. You will have a passion for television and its commissioning, operations and scheduling roles, and a confident, persuasive manner, with an ablity to communicate sometimes complex information to a range of audiences and business levels.

Requirements

You will be required to provide creative leadership, editorial vision and financial accountability for the planning and scheduling strategy over a 3 year time-span. You will also be required to generate competitive, imaginative and compelling schedules – ideas that impact, raise the profile of BBC Children’s and maximise value for the audience, and to work closely with Marketing Communications & Audiences (MC&A) and the CBeebies and CBBC websites in promoting content.
