Challenging position for a professional with EU decision-making expertise and experience in learning and development

The Position

EIPA is offering a challenging position, where you will have the opportunity to support European public administrations (EU, national, regional and local) in the process of European integration. The multinational team of the European Decision-Making Unit brings together persons with different professional backgrounds in order to provide a combination of analytical depth and practical insights into EU decision-making. We are looking for a new member of the team. We welcome applications both from persons with professional experience in EU decision-making processes, either in the European institutions or in a relevant department in Member States administrations, and from persons with more academic qualifications and previous experience in lecturing. The successful candidate should be able to contribute at a general level to our activities on legislative procedures, delegated and implementing acts and other aspects of EU governance and policy processes. The candidate should have a high level of specialised competence in one of these areas.

Job Profile

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer:

  • Delivers training for multinational groups of civil servants, in the EU Institutions and other EU bodies, as well as in open courses;
  • Develops new teaching materials, including case studies and simulation exercises;
  • Conducts research on relevant topics;
  • Manages seminars and other projects;
  • Develops new programmes and acquires new contracts, included commissioned research.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate should meet all or most of the following requirements:

  • Master degree plus at least four years (Lecturer) or eight years (Senior Lecturer) of professional experience in an area relevant to the position and/or postgraduate qualification;
  • Excellent communication skills, preferably also previous experience in lecturing/training;
  • Experience with, and interest in, e-learning and blended learning methodologies;
  • Extensive knowledge of the EU institutions and their decision-making procedures;
  • Excellent command of English and the ability to give presentations in French;
  • Proven analytical and writing skills, preferably with applied research experience;
  • Ability and willingness to travel;
  • Preferably the nationality of one of the EU member states, of the candidate countries to the EU, or one of the EEA countries.

The maximum salary for the grade of Lecturer is EUR 5,444.33 gross per month on a full-time basis and for the grade of Senior Lecturer EUR 6,550.02.
