Mining Manager Operational Support
Johannesburg
African Barrick Gold requires a suitably qualified and experienced Mining Manager, based at the Johannesburg regional office, to provide Operational Support in terms of performance and cost improvements and assisting with the introduction of appropriate new technologies to improve safety and operational performance, to our various Mine Sites. Experience in both underground and open-pit mining operations is essential to this role. The incumbent will ensure that mining standards are appropriate and maintained and will assist the sites with making the best use of installed fleet managment tools. This position reports to the Corporate Manager: Mining.
A degree or equivalent in Mining and a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency are required for this role, along with at least 10 years’ experience related to underground and open-pit mining at management level. Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures for surface and underground mining is essential. The ideal candidate will be required to travel to the operations in Tanzania (10 to 15 days a month). All candidates must be able to live and work in South Africa.
