Background / General description:
NOTE: Staff on open-ended /regular appointments are invited to apply and, if selected, will retain their current appointment status. Special Operations (CSO) comprises a group of highly experienced investment specialists involved in work related to IFC’s troubled investment portfolio. CSO’s traditional work is designing and implementing workouts in the form of financial restructurings or other recovery solutions for jeopardy as well as potentially distressed investments. CSO undertakes its recovery work either independently or jointly with portfolio management units.
Duties and Accountabilities:
Principal Special Operations Officer at the GH Grade level to be based in Hong Kong. Candidate should have solid experience in restructuring and recovery work on jeopardy or distressed investment cases.
Selection Criteria:
The successful candidates would be expected to have the following general attributes: ---Academic background in finance, with an MBA or equivalent ---Knowledge of/experience with IFC policies, procedures, and operational activities ---Experience in complex portfolio issues ---Experience in restructurings required ---Experience in multiple sectors ---Strong negotiation and transaction execution skills ---Sound business judgment and strong analytical skills ---Strong language skills in Chinese are highly desirable ---A self-starter requiring minimal supervision ---Willingness and ability to travel on short notice and frequently, as required ---Ability to build effective client relationships (internally and externally) ---Excellent oral and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and tactfully to a variety of audiences within and outside the Bank Group ---Ability to play an active role in knowledge sharing ---Demonstrated teamwork skills ---Ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines
