Research Officer

Salary to £23,280 + benefits
(12 month contract, with the possibility of subsequent extension)

We have a vacancy for a Research Officer to join our team based in Brighton engaged in research on UK and European employment policy (exceptionally, we will also consider an appointment to our London office).

IES researchers are involved in a diverse range of research topics, including: work, health and well-being; employment relations; welfare-to-work; labour market disadvantage; learning and skills; and HR management.

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research tasks including: quantitative and qualitative data analysis; literature searches and reviews; interviews; focus groups and report writing. Applicants should have excellent academic qualifications in an economic or social science discipline (at Masters level or higher). Previous work experience in a research environment would also be desirable. An interest in employment and skills policy and/or human resource management is essential. An interest in, and experience of, European employment and skills policy is desirable, as is some foreign language capability.

The appointment will be initially to a 12 month contract, with the possibility of subsequent extension.
