The Global Financial Markets Department (FM) conducts investments in all fields related to the advancement of financial markets in IFC’s member countries, including in SME Banking, Trade Finance, Microfinance, Insurance, Housing Finance and Private Equity Funds. The Strategy Unit in the Global Financial Markets Department is looking to hire a Strategy Analyst to work on the areas described below.

Duties and Accountabilities:
• Contribute to various FM/IFC Strategy and Business Plan documents (e.g., FM Strategy Presentation, FM Budget Presentation, IFC Road Map, IFC Annual Report).

• Assist in planning and preparing for the Annual FM strategy session.

• Contribute to the year-end summary of FM operations presentation.

• Monitor and provide information/data as needed with regards to FM investment program, portfolio, profitability, efficiency and other measures, including the IFC Development Goals (IDGs).

• Monitor data quality in the Development Outcome Tracking System (DOTS), which encompasses all FM projects from early review stage through supervision and closure.

• Assist with the supervision of the annual reach data exercise and the DOTS ratings update.

• Assist with/prepare the Weekly Pipeline Report based on data tracking new commitment volumes against targets by region and product type.

• Track all Scorecard data, including mobilization, climate change volumes, equity invested through the IFC Asset Management Company, and regional IDA projects, as well as update the quarterly pricing report.

• Prepare the Monthly Forecast for Management Team tracking new commitment volume and other FM scorecard data.

• Collect and disseminate data and research on financial sector indicators and economic and demographic trends, in order to inform the formulation of sector/region strategies.

• Prepare reports and charts for the Chief Strategist and Strategy Officers’ presentations to management on an ad-hoc basis.

• Co-manage the Strategy Unit’s knowledge sharing community to support and facilitate shared work among department staff in headquarters and field offices.

Selection Criteria:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or business required. Master’s degree in finance or business or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.

• Strong written and verbal communications skills

• Strong excel and powerpoint skills.

• Proven capability to handle complex assignments and produce work to a high professional standard.

• Proven strong conceptual, analytical, and evaluation skills, initiative, ability to translate ideas into actions and timely delivery.

• Familiarity with data sources such as the WB/IMF/BIS financial statistics, Bankscope, Moody's, CIA Factbook, etc.
