Description

This role is for a technical expert in End User experience engineering, focusing on provision, presentation and profile technologies. This is not a support role.

As a User Profile and Provisioning Engineer, you will:

  • Contribute to the Design, Development and Proof of Concept (POC) for new Technology
  • Interpretate Component Designs and other detailed designs into installable and deliverable solutions
  • Develop installation and integration guides to aid implementation of solutions
  • Develop Post Implementation "Best Practice, Troubleshooting and Operational guides" to aid support of installed services
  • Resolve 4th Line problems, including: problem management, root cause analysis and implementation of remedies. This also includes:
    • Close liaison with the Service Management and 2nd / 3rd line production/support functions
    • Technical review of affected systems with a view to alleviating problems inherent in design, configuration and /or implementation
    • The provision of advice and consultancy aimed at minimising the occurrence and impact of service incidents through process improvement
    • Automation of recurring issues to minimize support overhead

Qualifications

We expect that you have:

  • Expert knowledge of the following technologies:
    • Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7
    • Windows profiles
    • Logon scripts
    • GPO
    • Citrix Presentation Server and Xen App, 4, 5, 6
    • Appsense Application manager and Environment Manager
    • Scripting
    • IE, HTML, jscript
  • Knowledge of the following (desirable):
    • Citrix Xen Desktop
    • MS Windows Server 2003, 2008
    • SCCM
    • IIS
    • Familiar with all browser engines, Safari, Firefox, IE, Chrome…
    • App-V
    • Active Directory
    • Mobile platforms, IOS, Android
    • SQL
    • LAN/WAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP
    • Firewalls, DMZ, Tunnels, proxies
    • Virtualisation technologies, VMware ESX
  • Working knowledge of the following will better integrate a successful candidate with the portal branch of the team:
    • .net VS c#
    • QA / testing
    • Jira
    • Web 2.0
    • N-tier architecture
