Communications Officer (Ref 509)

Part Time 24.5 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of dedicated communications specialists in one of the world’s leading organisations for research, teaching and information on international development. The Communications Officer will be responsible for a broad range of work to support the promotion of IDS research including, media and PR activities, the production of multimedia and other online content, event organisation and the design and production of publications.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring IDS research and knowledge reaches a bigger and more diverse audience and the institute is able to engage in key policy debates, link different perspectives and build new relationships. They will need to combine a good understanding of international development with excellent interpersonal and communications skills and a passion for promoting development research to a wide audience.

Salary: Initial appointment will be in the IDS Grade 6 range, between £23,587 - £35,231 per annum, pro rata (depending on experience) and is expected to be between £23,587 and £27,255
