The Pilbara Operations Business is now looking to appoint a Senior Analyst - Mining, reporting to thePrincipal - Performance Management & Analysis.
This position will see you playing a vital role in the Integrated Planning team within Rio Tinto Iron Ore. You will be based at our state of the art Operations Centre in Perth, a capital city that is nestled between the beautiful West Australian coastline and the Swan River. You will use your highly developed analytical skills and in depth knowledge of the mining process to analyse mine and plant performance, as well as identify improvement opportunities and work with operations and mine planning groups to implement them. The role has a strong system focus. It will give you exposure to the whole supply chain, well beyond the traditional realm of mining, as you work to ensure our highly integrated mine rail and port business functions at maximum efficiency. You will work with people across the supply chain at all levels, including senior management.
To be successful for this sought after position, you will be an inquisitive, analytical thinker with an outcomes focus. You will require excellent computing skills and preferably have had experience with commercial mine & plant production systems and databases. You will also need the ability to interpret and craft your analysis into a concise and targeted message for communication across all levels of the organisation and have excellent presentation skills to deliver your analysis. You will have a minimum 5 years experience in a planning or operational role within the mining industry and tertiary qualifications in science or engineering.
