Summary: Pact is seeking potential applicants for a USAID-funded Conflict Mitigation and Reconciliation Program in Myanmar. All positions are contingent upon award. This call is open to Burmese nationals only. The Project’s overall goal is support the current peace process, help bridge the “center-periphery” divide between the Bamar core and ethnic minority states, as well as bring together ethnic minority groups, and offer creative solutions to address and resolve inter-communal conflicts. The geographic focus of the project will be in Kayah State .

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of five years of professional experience implementing development programs in Myanmar related to peace building and reconciliation, conflict mitigation and/or capacity development.

• Strong working understanding of the political, social, cultural, environmental, and development context of Myanmar and conflict context of Kayah state. Familiarity in applying the ‘people-to-people’ approach in the context of conflict mitigation preferred.

• A university degree (Master’s Degree or higher preferred) in a related field of study, such as conflict management and mitigation, governance, and/or international development.

• Proven working experience in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of international donor support programs with skills in strategic planning, management, supervision, and/or budgeting. Prior experience on a USAID project preferred.

• Proven experience engaging with and building the capacity of local civil society for sustainable development.

• Proven track record of success in managing, coaching, and mentoring staff in an international setting, particularly within non-profit organizations.

• Proven ability to work a diverse group of project stakeholders, including specified groups such as youth, women, or indigenous minority groups.

• Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written.

• Working knowledge of USAID policies and procedures a plus.

• Fluency in English and Burmese required.
