The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a full-time Systems Analyst with strong experience in design, development, testing and documentation of software systems, focused in customer service and goals achievement.
The Center: CIP is a not-for-profit international agricultural research-for-development organization with a focus on potato, sweetpotato, and Andean roots and tubers. Its vision is of roots and tubers improving the lives of the poor. CIP is dedicated to achieving food security, improved well-being, and gender equity for poor people in root and tuber farming and food systems of the developing world. CIP works with partners to contribute high quality science, technology, and capacity strengthening for sustainable science-based solutions. CIP is headquartered in Lima, Peru, with staff and activities in over 30 locations across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. CIP is a member of the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research, a network of 15 research centers mostly located in the developing world and supported by more than 50 donor members.
The position: The Systems Analyst position will be based in Lima, Peru and will report to the Corporate Systems Administrator. This position will be responsible for support and maintenance of existing applications, and will participate in integrating these applications to a world class ERP.
Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Analysis, Design, Programming and Implementing, data extracting, transforming and loading for the Data Migration process
  • Development and operation of technical testing programs
  • Production of technical documentation
  • Reporting on progress/issues to management and users.
  • Integrate Existing Applications with ABW ERP
  • Reporting configuration and deployment
  • Set up and maintenance of security rights and access permissions
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineer or related discipline.
  • At least 2 years demonstrated experience in similar functions.
  • Knowledge in System Development (C/S, Smart Client) and work experience in MS environment.
  • Experience in data and software management, relational database systems.
  • Work experience participating in data migration and integration of existing systems with the ERP (desirable).
  • Proven experience in planning and implementing challenging, complex projects that anticipate and respond to the demands of a high-growth organization, developing dynamic systems and processes that anticipate and support changes in the operational and business model, and producing results under demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a multicultural organization in order to identify goals, set priorities and working proactively.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English (desirable).
  • Ability to work well independently and as team member.
  • Professional with high level of commitment and sensitivity with the organization’s mission and values.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Selection Criteria:
Conditions: This position is local thus limited to Peruvian national and permanent residents. Employment contract will be for an initial six-month with the possibility of renewal for another 6 months.
