Secretary General Europur/Euro-Moulders Brussels, Belgium

The Brussels based association EUROPUR represents the European producers of flexible polyurethane block foam for upholstered furniture and mattresses. Together with the sister organization EURO-MOULDERS, representing the European producers of moulded polyurethane parts for the automotive industry, it looks for a successor of the current SECRETARY GENERAL, who is going to retire by end of 2013.

This position involves four pillars of activities:

• Overall management of the affaires of both associations, Europur and Euro-Moulders, which are constituted as international non-profit organizations under the Belgian law;
• Organizing conferences, managing working groups and task forces, exchanging information among member companies directly and by publishing regular newsletters;
• Advocating towards the European institutions for enterprise and environmental policies and supporting corresponding activities on national level. She/he will be the One-Voice for the communication between producers of flexible polyurethane foam and these institutions, to NGO’s and to the public;
• Managing the administrative part of CertiPUR, a voluntary environmental label for polyurethane products for upholstered furniture and mattresses.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate

• The understanding of the dynamics of a voluntary, membership-based organization which exists to serve the collective interests of all of its members;
• A practical experience of the EU policy process in relation to industry issue policies and of related lobbying towards EU institutions;
• The ability to balance longer-term strategic thinking and shorter-term tactical and operational activities;
• Excellent communication skills and charisma;
• In depth experience in a similar environment.

The Association’s secretariat is supported by an assistant and by chairmen for various working groups. Working language is English, fluency in any additional important European language is an asset.
