Description:Develops and implements database strategy to best support and drive NARAL Pro-Choice America's mission. Directs or performs activities related to managing, collecting and reporting on organizational donor (member, major gift, and event), activist, and political data. The Assistant Director of Database Strategy and Implementation is the owner of database strategy across the entire organization, works with each department to ensure that database issues are addressed, and develops long-term strategy to enable NARAL Pro-Choice America to continue to be a political leader.

Responsibilities:

-Develops and implements long-term database strategy as part of NARAL Pro-Choice America's broader technology strategy. Converts conceptual ideals into requirements, and requirements into the database environment that the organization uses.
-Evaluates organizational database systems and procedures, and implements changes to increase efficiency and accuracy of database usage and data.
-Manages organizational information while ensuring correct and current data collection and update. Works closely with the Development department to ensure that records of contributions and constituents are accurate.
-Oversees the data collection process, management, and maintenance of data. Ensures that records are entered or imported accurately and recommends processes to improve the data entry process.
-Performs quality assurance testing for completeness, correctness, quantity, and integrity, and performs internal assessments to verify the quality of collected data and the data collection efforts.
-Negotiates contracts and maintains relationships with technology providers and vendors. Receives, processes, and maintains database management system agreements and invoices.
-Trains organizational and affiliate staff in database management systems use. Maintains relationships to ensure that affiliate and organizational staff maintain proficiency.
-Supports national and affiliate staff experiencing troubles with database systems.
-Develops and maintains standard and ad hoc reports; provides exports from and imports to the database systems to staff and affiliates.
-Develops and maintains organizational business rules for data collection and use in the database management systems.
-Maintains database security, including managing access levels and granting or revoking as appropriate. Ensures that new users are appropriately trained before they are granted access to organizational data.
-Chairs the Data Administration Committee.
-Oversees efforts to consolidate organization?s databases.

Qualifications:
-Minimum 5 years of broad based database and information technology experience;
-Bachelor's degree;
-Demonstrated knowledge of integrated databases and report writers;
-Ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects, manage details, and work effectively under pressure with minimum supervision;
-Experience with non-profits, political campaigns, or advocacy organizations preferred;
-Experience with SalesForce or other force.com applications preferred;
-Experience with Raiser's Edge a plus;
-Training experience required;
-Demonstrated customer service orientation with staff or outside affiliates;
-Commitment to diversity and sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural differences; and
-Clear understanding of, and commitment to, NARAL's mission and goals.
