Job Purpose
To manage and lead the Revenue Management MIS business unit, ensuring that key commercial personnel across the business are updated on the airline’s flown and forecasted revenue performance through the regular production and dissemination of reports, analysis and presentations.
To drive the continuous improvement in the business unit’s effectiveness and efficiency through automation of IT processes, broadening of data sources and research on the dynamic information requirements of commercial staff to support decision-making and support revenue performance.
To lead the integration of the business unit and its systems with the PROS O&D Revenue Management system and to exploit the data available from this system and other sources to support fact-based decision making across the key commercial areas of the business.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the major projects for the Revenue Management MIS business unit – including incorporation and exploitation of new commercial data sources and evaluation and implementation of advanced delivery mechanisms through Business Intelligence solutions
  • Development and implementation of sophisticated Operations Research techniques in order to improve the accuracy of passenger and revenue forecasts as well as provide detailed insight into Revenue Management performance (forecast accuracy, revenue opportunity achieved, overbooking efficiency, etc)
  • Research information needs across the commercial divisions of the company, identify gaps/new opportunities for information provision and devise strategies to address these
  • Drive efficiency improvements in operational processes – for instance the automation of regular report production and dissemination
  • Lead the business unit’s coordination with related functional areas in Strategy & Planning and Sales to ensure timely and accurate sharing of data and information
  • Lead the business unit’s coordination with IT to ensure that the business unit maintains working practices within IT corporate guidelines and to communicate and follow up on issues
  • Represent the RM MIS business unit in executive-level forums across a broad range of topics – e.g. to update on project progress or to communicate analysis on the airline’s revenue performance
RequirementsQualification & Education:
  • Bachelors degree level educated in IT/Computer Science, Business/Economics/Statistics or other numerate discipline.
Experience:
  • 5 years working experience in a numerate and analytical role, ideally within the airline industry.
  • 5 years working experience of business intelligence tools, databases and database programming
  • 3 to 5 years experience of system support and development (including development and execution of user acceptance testing)
  • 2 to 3 years experience on coaching/mentoring of analyst level staff
