Job Purpose
To commercially evaluate requests from EY sales teams for confirmation of group space on EY flights. The main objective of the position will be the maximization of network revenue through the selective acceptance/rejection of requests in line with inventory control strategies set by the inventory team. To ensure sales compliance with Revenue Management policies relating to payment of group deposits and ticketing and to continually monitor group materialization performance flagging up poor performance and adjusting seat confirmation in line with this.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluation of group booking requests - Utilizing a range of RM data (booked loads, forecasted loads, competitor fares etc) to perform an economic evaluation of requests for group space on EY flights.  
  • Enforcement of RM deposit & ticketing requirements - Monitoring timelimits and following up with EY sales teams to ensure deposits are being collected and ticketing is taking place on time.
  • Group Reporting - Producing regular reporting on group materialization rates by sales team and by agent.
  • Development of systems and policies & procedures - Continual initiative to improve the quality of the systems used in the evaluation of group requests and the policies & procedures applied for groups.
RequirementsQualifications and Education:
  • Educated to university degree level in an Economics, Business, Statistics or other numerate discipline.
Experience:
  • 5 years experience in the airline industry, 3 years of which should have been in Revenue Management.
Knowledge:
  • The jobholder should have strong commercial awareness and a good understanding of the functions of Revenue Management, particularly the area of inventory control. Strong communication, analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills are essential. The jobholder should be PC literate with a strong working knowledge of excel. They should also be conversant with an airline reservations system. Knowledge of the Amadeus Altea Inventory system would be advantageous.
