Consultant, Assessment and Ranking
Coffey International Development (Coffey) manages the Australia Awards in Mongolia on behalf of the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Coffey’s Mongolia team manages each stage of the Scholarships cycle, enabling DFAT to select qualified candidates from targeted areas to study Master’s level courses at Australian universities. The program aims to improve human resource capacity in the private and public sectors and enhance opportunities for knowledge-sharing and links between Australia and Mongolia.
Coffey is seeking short-term inputs from suitably qualified persons for the position of Consultant, Assessment and Ranking (two positions).
Job Requirement
- Evaluate written applications, using DFAT’s On-line Australian Scholarships Information System (OASIS)
- Deliver a ranked list of applicants, suitable for DFAT to use to short-list candidates for further consideration
- Provide evaluative comments on each applicant
- Ensure the quality and objectivity of this component of the scholarship assessment process
- Provide a brief but comprehensive process report, including proposals to improve the ranking exercise.
Professional Requirements
- A tertiary degree, preferably post-graduate, equivalent to an Australian tertiary qualification
- Understanding of the Australian university system
- Understanding of the Mongolian tertiary education system.
- Experience in assessing applications and candidates against specific criteria
- Ability to work as part of a team
The assignment is approximately 2 weeks in May 2014, but can be extended to fit the number of applications to be assessed.
Successful applicants will receive an induction on the exercise prior to commencement.
Classified Discipline B, Level 3 on DFAT Adviser Remuneration Framework.
