Grant Manager

Salary:£32,292 - £34,570
Contract:2 Year Fixed Term Contract
Location:London
Closing date:February 23rd 2014
At ActionAid we are supporting the poorest and most excluded people in the world to claim their rights and lift themselves out of poverty. We are working towards the achievement of long term sustainable goals as part of our bold and ambitious strategy.
It means we’re creating fantastic career opportunities for sector professionals who want to be part of an organisation that is making a real difference. Join our action to end poverty now and be part of something truly amazing.
We are looking for a highly motivated professional to manage a significant multi-year grant from a private individual. This grant supports a large number of our programme areas, including the co-financing of more than 10 pre-existing projects.                                                                                   We need someone who can provide inspiration to re-enforce the donor’s commitment by producing concise reports on the impact of their donation from a wide variety of sources.
In this role you will be responsible for the set up and management of all the sub-grants and will design systems to ensure that the Project Accountability Team and other key stakeholders in ActionAid UK and in ActionAid globally feel informed and up to date on grant progress and any challenges.
In addition, you will support the set-up and management of a number of other smaller private grants, write reports to inspire other donors, and co-ordinate and improve our systems for raising funds for EC co-financing and matched funding gaps.
With your obvious flair for writing project reports for major donors and your ability to present complex project information in a clear and engaging way, you’re ideal for this role.
We are looking for someone with experience of managing projects, winning wide spread support for your aims, and utilising project management tools and packages that help deliver the best results.
Your record shows you know how to successfully set up and manage grants, and work well with colleagues across the globe. It also demonstrates that as well as seeing the wider picture you have the core attributes essential for achieving outstanding outcomes, including the ability to prioritise, use your initiative, meet deadlines and ensure every detail is correct.
Your ability to build strong relationships within a team and cross-organisationally, with colleagues from different functions, cultures and levels of seniority, will set you up well for this role. Your drive and efficiency leads you to continuously look for and champion improvements, especially when you can see the benefits they will ultimately bring to the people we most want to help.
