Background

The Association of the European Self-Medication Industry (AESGP) represents the consumer healthcare industry in Europe, covering the sectors of non-prescription medicines, food supplements and self-care medical devices. Its membership consists of national associations and the main multinational companies operating in these sectors.

AESGP is looking for a Manager for Economic Affairs/Market Access for its Brussels-based secretariat.

Key responsibilities

Working at the AESGP office in Brussels and reporting to the Association’s Director General, the responsibilities of this position include:
  • Managing and organising the work of the Association in the area of Market Access. This concerns in particular the economics of self-medication and public affairs, covering issues such as the advertising, branding and distribution of non-prescription medicines;
  • Development of the programme of AESGP conferences;
  • Contributing to AESGP research programmes related to the economic and public health benefits of self-care;
  • Representing the association in different multi-stakeholder health policy related activities;
  • Positioning of the Association concerning new technologies;
  • Covering developments in Health Technology Assessment and representing the Association in activities relating to EUnetHTA and the EU HTA Network.

Candidate profile

  • Background in health, economic, or political sciences;
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills;
  • Excellent English language oral and writing skills. Knowledge of one or more other EU languages such as French or German is an advantage;
  • Good understanding of the European Union institutions. Knowledge of European law would be an asset;
  • Good understanding of the digital landscape and new media;
  • Good understanding of the key political issues in the area of consumer healthcare.

Salary
