POSITION OVERVIEW:

ISS is currently seeking a full-time analyst to perform data collection and related duties to support ISS Governance QuickScore. This position will be based in Brussels, and will cover Spain as well as other southern European markets.
ISS Governance QuickScore is a data driven risk analysis product that tracks and flags corporate governance practices of over 4,000 companies in 25 markets. Institutional investors are the primary consumers of this service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review corporate events and public filings that may impact the corporate governance risk of a company and update relevant data in a timely fashion, in accordance with established data collection procedures and SLAs;
  • Conduct a review of the collected data to ensure quality and accuracy;
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from issuers relating to QuickScore;
  • Perform the necessary quarterly batch data QA/reconciliation procedures for companies in assigned QuickScore markets;
  • Assist in maintaining QuickScore methodology and procedures manuals. Comply with established methodologies and procedures;
  • Work with other teams in support of planned product enhancements and extensions;
  • Perform other relevant data collection and related tasks as required by the manager;
  • Develop market expertise in corporate governance, investment and shareholder issues;
  • Analyze corporate governance and financial information to write research reports on publicly traded companies;
  • Issue proxy vote recommendations for shareholder meetings of the portfolio of companies in your markets.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, or similar field of study;
  • Previous relevant work experience in a high-quality and hard deadline-driven environment strongly preferred. Knowledge of corporate governance and/or financial markets a plus;
  • Good judgment in assessing information sources and understanding the downstream effects of data decisions on final product outputs;
  • Proficient in the use of IT applications, both in-house and commercial packages (i.e., Excel);
  • Effectiveness in working with cross-functional and cross-border/cross-cultural teams;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with clear attention to detail;
  • Highly motivated, independent, results-oriented, and possesses a strong sense of ownership;
  • Flexible in working hours.
