The role
Reporting to the Metallurgy manager, the main objective of the Associate Metallurgist is to carry out estimations, audits, due diligence studies, feasibility studies and technical reports. The Associate makes independent decisions on policies and procedures relevant to their discipline within an overall program. This includes training and the technical development of other Metallurgical group personnel.
This role will act as a positive role model and will lead by example through the contribution to and the promotion of a safe, satisfying and challenging work environment and includes training and the technical development of metallurgical group personnel. Through focus on technical excellence, the role will contribute positively to both Coffey Mining’s reputation and the planned profitability for the region.

The person
You will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy and preferably be a member of AUSIMM. Post Graduate qualifications will also be highly regarded.

Contributing to a culture of technical excellence, you will have strong experience in both hydro and pyrometallurgy across a range of commodities and solid management and production experience.

You will be familiar with the various international reporting standards and have demonstrated experience with a diverse range of metalliferous mine operations and exposure to feasibility study management, equipment valuation, due diligence and auditing and business planning. Strong written and verbal communication, management and interpretative skills are also essential.
