The role Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer, the main objective of the Associate is to perform professional work involving considerable independence in approach, demanding a considerable degree of originality, ingenuity and judgement, and knowledge of more than one field of, or area of expertise. The Associate initiates or participates in short-range or long-range planning and makes independent decisions on policies and procedures relevant to their discipline within an overall program. It is critical that the Associate makes responsible decisions not usually subject to technical review, decides on courses of action necessary to expedite the successful accomplishment of assigned projects, and may make recommendations involving large sums or long range objectives. The person To ensure your success in this critical role, you will have tertiary qualifications in Mining. Post graduate study would be advantageous. Contributing to a culture of technical excellence, you will have strong extensive experience in the mining sector including mine planning and design, mine management, and both open pit and underground mining operations. You will also have significant experience in feasibility study management, equipment evaluation, contract preparation and administration, due diligence and auditing, financial modelling, business planning, valuations (cash flow, market and cost approaches).
