Construction Supervisor - Maersk Oil, Al Shaheen Field, Qatar

Maersk Oil Qatar AS is the leading oil producer offshore Qatar and a recognized pioneer in oil development and production techniques.

On the basis of an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) signed in 1992 with Qatar Petroleum, Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) is the sole operator of the Al Shaheen field.

The current oil production from the Al Shaheen field is approximately 330,000 barrels per day from nine different locations and is exported via two main offshore facilities.

The Construction Group, organized in Operations department, are responsible for all construction activities on existing facilities, both related to Minor Projects in existing facilities, Maintenance, Production support and assistance to Drilling and Marine departments.

The Construction Supervisor will refer to the offshore Lead Construction Supervisor

The Construction Supervisors are responsible for:

• Execution of Construction activities offshore are done safe and efficiently.
• On site supervision of construction personnel
• Ensure and encourage good teamwork in the construction group offshore
• Prepare, renew and complete Permit to Work formulas for construction jobs
• Participate in estimation and planning of construction jobs
• Prepare construction job requests
• Coordinate materials delivery with support with the Construction coordinator onshore
• Participation in preparing punch lists for construction jobs
• Handover of completed jobs to Production
• Finalize as-built documentation
• Comply with applicable safety instructions and other Company procedures
• Ensure that in all matters safety, economical and technical assessments are made, due diligence is observed and initiative taken to secure the best economical results
• Bring forward suggestions for improvements in time and cost within the areas of responsibility
• Ensure the work is carried out in a professional manner and in compliance with applicable contracts, Company policies and relevant laws and regulations
• Work according to activity plans and deadlines in close coordination with the Construction Support onshore group
• Actively monitor work progress and report back to onshore
• Ensure close co-operation with the production- and maintenance groups offshore

Candidate:

He or she holds the following qualifications:

• Technical education / training with a minimum of 6-8 years experience as Construction Supervisor in the Oil and gas industry is preferred.
• Understands and work by the ‘Safety First’ concept.
• Thorough knowledge to welding and assembly methods in steel, alloys and composites.
• An understanding for basics in E&I disciplines and experience in support to E&I activities.

The job is based offshore in the Al Shaheen Field.

Work schedule is a 28 days rotation with partly night-shift.
