Senior Manager Structural / mechanical engineer - APM Terminals

In 2009 APMT Crane & Engineering Services was established as a separate business unit with company registered in Hongkong and China, but we provide our services world wide. APMT CES has together with APM Terminals built more than 50 terminals world wide including delivery of more than 150 STS cranes and more than 300 RTG's.

For our Engineering department, located in The Hague, Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced Senior Manager Structural / mechanical engineer.

Key Accountabilities:

• Join the CES Engineering team with his/her experience in structural / mechanical engineering – with the emphasis on crane structures.
• Take part in delivering projects to customers of CES, including:
o Design Review;
o Project management (within Engineering);
o Document Management;
o Scheduling (within Engineering);
o Knowledge Management (based on customer feedback as well as supplier feedback);
o Support of Procurement such as technical comparison of offers and warranty support,
• Maintain courteous and professional relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Support the APMT procurement strategy to promote centralized purchasing, standardization of equipment, and use of standard components to reduce total cost of ownership.
• Assist further development of APMT standards and guidelines for engineering and technical procurement within:
o Specifications;
o Quality Assurance;
o Manufacturing & Commissioning,
• Assist in managing agreements with heavy equipment suppliers specific for APM Terminals and support negotiations with suppliers when required.
• Seek innovation within the technical area.
• Reinforce APMM Group culture, values and reputation.

Your Profile:

    1. Relevant technical education (minimum bachelor in M-engineering) and experience including in depth knowledge of crane design - structural engineering.
    2. Relevant experience and understanding of project management for engineering projects.
    3. Experience in /knowledge of finite element calculations, working experience with FE calculation programs is not a must but a plus-point.
    4. Well-organized, timely, and persistent.
    5. Possess empathy, personal tact, cultural understanding, and good communication skills.
    6. Willingness to travel.
    7. Thorough command of English in speaking and writing.
