Duty Engineer

Job Purpose

Review and issue design changes based on approved data or within EY DOA. Promulgate technical documentation for aircraft designs in accordance with compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • Technical Focal for large customers and projects. Supports program management to setup work plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Preparation and development of design solutions
  • Detailed review and check of designs and changes for regulatory compliance
  • Liaison with customers, suppliers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s); represent EY professionally at high technical level
  • Evaluation of products / components and preparation of reports
  • Liaison with production and maintenance organisations
  • Promulgation of technical design documentation and solutions
  • Support projects organisation in preparation of quotations for customers
  • Provide guidance to other departments on all matters relating to design related activities
  • Respond to audit findings and take necessary corrective and preventive action
  • Drafting procedures
  • Engage in design management activities; assist Manager Design in meetings
  • Monitor and review developments at industry level
Requirements

Must hold Engineering Degree (BsC or above) from university recognized by EY and appropriate qualifications and experience applicable to the discipline. Minimum of 4 years of experience in aeronautical engineering, of which a minimum of 2 years must be development engineering in the relevant type of work.

In addition to above; you are required to have the following:

  • Airworthiness regulation, human factors, type/system, verification/compliance and procedures training as defined in EY Design Organisation Handbook (DOH).
  • Have good knowledge of airworthiness regulations, EY company procedures and EASA Part 21 regulations.
  • Proven Project management experience is generally preferred
  • General knowledge of risk management
  • High knowledge of EY TPM and DOH
  • In depth knowledge on EASA / FAA regulations which include Part 21 (and Part M and Part 145 to a lesser extent)
  • In depth knowledge on EASA design standards and CS 25 regulation applicable to area of speciality
  • Good knowledge of English, spoken and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and social competence, team player
  • Strong communications skills, creative and innovative to always be one step ahead
  • Analytical and modelling intelligence and strategic thinking
  • Exhibit a high level of personal integrity, thereby maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality under commercial pressure
  • Permanent education to secure up-to-date understanding of current and anticipation of future legislation needs as well as basics of company financial management
