Job mission

To provide support to and assist the CNOC, VAS 1st line support Engineers and CNOC Supervisors in solving and identifying Interconnect faults and core related faults
Proactive Statistics Analysis interconnect KPI’s for improved efficiency.
The candidate will be responsible for the management of these faults, Ensuring that thorough investigations and regular follow ups are done with higher level support if necessary, until fault has been resolved. Providing regular updates on the events.

KPA duties

Key Tasks:

1. Manage all faults that have been escalated to engineer.
2. Identify fault trends and resolutions with back office support areas.
3. Monitor FACTS reports for potential problems that may affect interconnect, core and roaming services.
4. Assist the CNOC Supervisor ,CNOC SLA Co-ordinator and services team to troubleshoot and identify, diagnose and repair difficult problems.
5. Provide on-the-job training and guidance to CNOC personnel.
6. Liaising with network performance, senior engineers and operational management teams as and when needed in an effort to resolve faults efficiently
7. Carry out any extra duties as given from time to time by the CNOC Management.
8. Provide ideas and feedback on software tools, procedures and improvements to CNOC functionality.

Educational requirements

A technical diploma or degree in telecoms, IT or a related field OR served in a recognised telecoms apprenticeship and a minimum 2 years experience in telecoms industry.

Experience required

Network Fault management. Strong WCDMA/GSM/DATA, transmission (DXX advantageous), IP

Skills required

Knowledge:

Must have industry specific knowledge (cellular, mobile, GSM, Telecommunications )
Ericsson AXE knowledge, all Microsoft office applications.
Modem and handset Knowledge
Transmission DXX and FOCUS node knowledge
