Global Head of Industrial Vertical

The Position
As the Global Head of the Industrial Vertical you will report directly to the to the Vice President, Global Sales. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and lead acquisition of new business opportunities with 4-6 qualified global customer targets. As the company is expanding into this industry space in 2012, you will work closely with the Global Sales VP and regional sales leaders to direct and shape the vertical strategy, market positioning, value proposition and target account setting.
Over time, as new accounts with foreseeable global potential are secured, account managers will be recruited and report into the global vertical head. The Global Vertical Head would have overall global responsibility for driving account strategy, targets and initiatives and work alongside the Global Account Managers to achieve targeted growth.

Additional responsibilities of this role include developing value propositions and service concepts that create customer value within the context of the companies' capabilities. You will also serve as the industry subject matter expert and resource for select regional opportunities and represent and support the Industrial vertical sales team in consultative, strategic, customer focused selling of all products and services in this space.

Qualifications

Education, experience and Competencies:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or related field, master's degree preferred.
· 10+ years of International Freight Forwarding
· Industry insight, contacts and knowledge of Industrial (machinery, industrial automation, power generation, construction/mining, transport equipment, etc)
· 5+ years of Sales management experience
· 8+ of direct sales experience
· Global or large account management
· Demonstrated track record of success
· Global travel up to 50%
· Computer literate (Office 2000 Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
· Residence: Chicago/Dallas/Houston/NY/NJ
Computer skills
· Proficient in CRM, Microsoft Office applications and other technical software.
· The ability to effectively use technology (PDA, laptop, phone, etc.) to communicate and maintain productivity while travelling is required.
Physical demands
This position requires significant travel (up to 50%) in different regions or countries, therefore the ability to travel long hours by air plane, carry luggage, and drive a vehicle are key physical requirements.
Relocation assistance is not available. This position does require candidates have authorization to work in the United States.
