The School of Education focuses on early childhood, primary and secondary teacher education and offers courses both on campus and by flexible distance education to Australian and international students. The School provides ongoing professional learning for teachers in Graduate Certificate, Masters degree and short non-award courses. We are also a research School, emphasising issues in rural and regional education with strengths in other areas including English and literacy education, student diversity and disability studies, health and physical education and improving schooling in developing countries.

The Education Contexts Team within the School of Education contributes to all awards in pre-service teacher and postgraduate education programs by providing a focus on social justice, cultural diversity, sociology of education and histories and philosophies of education as well as Aboriginal, adult, higher, international and comparative education. The Team uses conceptual and methodological approaches such as critical discourse analysis, post structuralism, post colonialism, feminist theory and critical theory.

The School is seeking to appoint one continuing academic staff member at Level C or B with appropriate postgraduate qualifications. At Level C this would include a relevant doctoral qualification. The successful applicant will also have teaching experience in primary, secondary or post compulsory education, while at Level C teaching experience will expand to include teaching students at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level with a commitment to research excellence and a demonstrated research output.

Salary: A$94,615 to A$108,953 per annum (Senior Lecturer Level C)
A$77,416 to A$91,751 per annum (Lecturer Level B)
plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
