Management Accountant

Key Accountabilities:

§ Optimise the function of Financial Accounting to achieve maximum efficiency and service levels to provide accurate and timeous financial information for management to make informed decisions

§ Proactively provide financial advice and support to radio stations to ensure that strategic business objectives are achieved

§ Preparing and reviewing of the radio station’s monthly financial report

§ Analyse actual income and expenditure

§ Reporting on variances against budget and initiate corrective action where necessary

§ Preparing accurate projections

§ Forecasting of income and expenditure

§ Co-ordinating the budget process for the radio stations and preparing these budgets

§ Ensuring sound financial management of the radio stations

§ Ensure the processing of financial transactions with adherence to the SABC’s financial policies and accounting procedures and any ad-hoc projects and presentations

§ Perform ad-hoc financial investigations and prepare ad-hoc reports on request of senior management

Requirements:

§ BComm/Accounting Degree or equivalent

§ Five years accounting and reporting experience

§ Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act and South African GAAP

§ Proven track record in management accounting, financial reporting and presentation

§ Excellent track record in implementation and maintenance of sound financial systems

§ Advanced proficiency in MsExcel, PowerPoint and MsWord

§ Strong interpersonal and communication skills

§ Ability to communicate financial information and procedures to technical mindsets

§ Ability to work under pressure, self starter and strategic thinker

§ SAP knowledge will be advantageous

§ Knowledge of IFRS
