MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

To develop, manage and maintain efficient and effective financial reporting systems for PCS Radio that will assist management in optimizing resources and reducing costs through an effective process re-design which will integrate systems and deliver value-added services to customers.

Key responsibilities: Reporting to the Management Accountant: PCS Radio, the incumbent will be responsible for:

§ Assisting in the compilation and management of the annual PCS Radio budget

§ Assisting in the consolidation of the budget for the PCS Radio division, consisting of Metro FM, 5 FM, Good Hope FM and Radio management.

§ Develop sound Policies and Procedures for PCS Radio Division

§ Compile Divisional Financial and Operational Reports for the Division

§ Consolidate and manage of cash flow requirements for the Division

§ Running the day to day financial activities of PCS Radio

§ Prepare Monthly divisional management accounts with detailed variances analysis

§ Developing and implementing internal controls in division

§ Provide financial support to the business units

§ Optimise the utilisation of SABC resources

§ Ensure adherence to SABC Policies and Procedures and Delegation of Authority Document

§ Develop, implement and maintain sound financial systems

§ Manage the forex requirements of the division as well as applying the correct accounting treatment of forex transactions

Qualifications, experience and requirements:

§ A minimum of two years’ financial experience

§ Ability to analyse, interpret and present financial information

§ Knowledge of PFMA Act

§ Knowledge of GAAP/IAS

§ Analytic analysis of financial information and attention to detail

§ Ability to communicate at all levels

§ Very strong spreadsheet knowledge
