Manager, Supply and Demand Planning, Canada

To manage and develop a team of Demand /Supply Planners that coordinate and facilitate a continuous replenishment of finished product for the customer order fulfillment process, from all Company production facilities and 3rd party manufacturers. To assure operational excellence of a world class planning process to drive supply chain planning and deliver excellent customer service. To create the most realistic/accurate forecast possible which in turn drives Supply Chain activities to have the right product at the right place at the right time. Manage the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process with the Provinces by balancing supply and demand while challenging all to provide realistic forecasts.

Decision Making
This role will need to challenge bottom-up sales forecasts provided by Provinces by discerning exceptional differences between volume trends, financial targets, and various causal factors. This role is responsible for managing overall supply and deployment of finished goods within the Canadian supply points. The overall inventory value of finished goods within any manager's responsibility is approximately $50 million. This role makes production and/or inventory sourcing decisions that support Network Supply manufacturing and distribution footprint strategy, and which often require capital investment up to $1 million for new bottling and/or processing capability.

Financial Responsibility
Total inventory responsibility of up to $50 million. Planning and overall supply responsibility for up to 20 million cases per year ($2 billion in annual sales) supplied from domestic and/or import production facilities and 3rd party manufacturers.

Management Responsibility
Reports to the Director - Demand Planning. Supported by Director Supply Planning
Manage up to 3 Demand/Supply Planners in both planning and data analysis roles.
Responsibility includes daily and monthly planning processes which drive both operational and financial management decisions.
Manage the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, which provides a vehicle for evaluating and determining future business decisions by reconciling demand to supply by Sales Province.
Participate in training, development and performance appraisal activities for planning teams.
Recruit, train, motivate and develop staff, setting high standards for team and individuals

Key Outputs/Deliverables
Lead, develop, and retain a team of Demand/Supply Planning Analysts to facilitate a continuous replenishment of finished product for the customer order fulfillment process, from all supply locations.
Ensure efficient communication between Supply Planning team and all production and supply points.
Strong knowledge of time-series and causal forecasting methods and the understanding of how to optimize model parameters.
Responsible for trend and root cause analyses of historical events and demand drivers.
Responsible for long term capacity planning with production sites and driving supply chain stability.
Develop and manage consistent inventory management practices and procedures.
Own service and supply relationship between DNA and 3rd party warehouse provider.
Understand capabilities and costs of the supply chain and take action to improve simplicity and efficiency of interactions with customers and markets.

Experience
Excellent analytical skills required. In-depth knowledge of Manugistics preferred
Excellent data management and spreadsheet/query skills a must.
Clear understanding of the Conversion, Distribution Requirements Planning, Inventory Planning, Logistics, Customer Service, Procurement, Supplier Services, and Marketing processes required as they apply to this role.
Bachelors Degree in Operations / Supply Chain Management, or related business discipline - Advanced Degree a plus
5+ years experience in operations and/or supply chain management.
Knowledge of MPS/MRP and DRP methodology a must.
APICS CIPM Certification a plus
