Perform analysis of plant and soil samples using modern instrumentation, conduct method validation of existing plant and soil protocols complying the technical requirements of ISO 17025 accreditation for the development of new methods, compliance with protocols in complex analysis required at Analytical Service Lab, validation of analyses done by RTs to ensure high quality and reliable results, and provide competence and train RTs on technical aspects as need arises for highly technical tasks.

Major accountabilities/Responsibilities
• Perform method validation on plant, soil and water analyses using ISO 17025 standards for inclusion in the scope of ISO 17025 accreditation
• Assist the Assistant Manager II in the implementation of ISO 17025 system
• Perform analysis of samples using high end instrumentations such as ICP-OES, FAAS, GF-AAS, within the day's sample quota following ASL internal QA procedures for evaluating quality of results
• Train and supervise RTs and new staffs for implementation of validated methods such as extraction and digestion SOPs and evaluate competence of staff/trainee to perform such analysis within the agreed target date of completion by the Assistant Manager II and the researcher
• Performs all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor

Qualification requirements
• Licensed chemist or agricultural chemist
• At least 2 years relevant work experience
• Excellent skills in analytical chemistry and instrumentation, proficiency in ISO 17025 standards, oral and written communication, database and spreadsheet use
• Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work harmoniously and diligently in a team
