Yahoo! News is looking for a digital media professional to manage business operations, including supporting premier content partnerships and sales and product optimization. This position is ideal for a senior, business-minded individual with experience in product management or content production in the internet industry. You'll help define the strategy to execute key sales campaigns, content programming and product development to drive revenue and engagement initiatives for the Yahoo! News Network. Duties will include working cross-functionally with teams such as sales, finance, product management, marketing and business development to get key projects delivered to our users and to our advertisers on behalf of key partnerships.

Our ideal candidate has strong business management experience in News media, including content development and partner relationships, and has strong category product experience, including mobile and social platforms. You will have experience in or familiarity with online ad sales and business development. You will be a self-starter with the passion to excel in everything that you do. You will have the ability to interface with cross-functional teams, and be able to manage and drive towards key strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the overall success of business initiatives as they relate to assigned key partnerships and initiatives.
• Collaborate with sales development and sales teams to optimize go to market strategy, messaging and execution plans.
• Communicate regularly to both internal team members and external partners on project status, market analysis and recommendations.
• Provide cross functional leadership and drive completion of strategic initiatives across properties.
• Work with product managers to define priorities and build roadmaps supporting initiatives.
• Execute and oversee special projects and lead special cross functional teams as it relates to assigned business initiatives and project goals.

Requirements:
•
• 7-10 years working experience in media and/or internet technology, with preference for prior News industry experience
• Bachelors degree required preferably in business or journalism; MBA from a top tier program and/or equivalent experience strongly preferred
• Possess a demonstrable grasp of Yahoo!, the News media and online advertising industries
• Demonstrated ability to work across multiple locations and to execute complex projects with tight deadlines
• Must possess superior organization and time management skills
• Flexible, enthusiastic, and self-directed
• Independent thinker willing to challenge conventional wisdom
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
• Understands organizational dynamics, has operating experience with large and complex matrix organization
• Strong attention to detail and great follow-through
• Candidates should have experience working with standard Internet publishing tools/protocols including MS Office, content management systems and blog publishing
• Basic HTML and Photoshop skills are a plus
• Familiarity with SEO, RSS, Twitter, Facebook and other social media
