Analysts - Ministry of Justice

£29,495
London SW1

Here at the Ministry of Justice, our analysts have a pivotal role to play across the organisation. Part of a wider 76,000-strong team, they use their analytical skills to help us make good policy choices, monitor progress and use a £9bn budget to the best of our ability and shape the future of the justice system in England and Wales. Which makes it a great environment for your social research, statistical or operational research.

As one of our Research Officers, Operational Researchers or Higher Statistical Officers, you’d be undertaking and working with more senior analysts and customers to scope, plan and agree deliverables. You’ll then deliver the outputs, make sure the customers’ needs are being met and highlighting any changes to senior analysts. Liaison with academics and contractors could also form part of your brief, while in some cases you might have some line management responsibility.

Designing and delivering particular analytical tasks, you’ll need to manage customer relationships well and work with other analysts from time to time. You’ll see that quality assurance processes are delivered, draft clear and relevant analytical outputs and advise senior colleagues and customers when needed.

You will hopefully already have met Government social research, Government statistical services or Government operational research services requirements. If not, you may have a degree with a strong element of social research, statistics or operational research. You’ll certainly have strong technical skills and a commitment to continuing professional development.
