A Communications Specialist is sought by the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) for 24 months. Please note this is not a Commonwealth Secretatriat post. Details on how to apply are available at CCCCC's website.
Duties include:
- Developing a Communications Plan in support of the Centre’s work and coordinating the creative management and distribution of information on the Centre’s activities.
- Providing leadership in communications management and assuming quality assurance and control on communications outputs.
- Ensuring an appreciation for and elevated awareness of the impacts of climate variability and climate on key sectors and economies of Caribbean States a
- Overseeing the collection of information: the design, production and distribution/dissemination of communications and public awareness materials
- Identifying specialist requirements, including the use of social media.
- Maintaining a working relationship with local/community, national and regional agencies ensuring effective networking on various aspects of the Centre’s work.
- Supporting other communication requirements of the Centre’s technical work, including preparation of materials for workshops and training exercises.
- Assisting and supporting the Centre’s efforts in supervising and evaluating the performance of information distribution.
- Assisting the Centre in the regular monitoring and review of various project management activities.
- Providing progress reports and annual work-plans as required.
- Establishing links with donors, specialised national, regional and international organizations involved in climate change management training, capacity building, communication, and information dissemination.
- Developing and maintaining project-related web-pages.
