Research Consultant - Attitudes And Perceptions Linked To Social Development

Fee to be discussed
6-month contract
Based Mexico or Internationally
At Oxfam, we put a huge emphasis on research. It informs every major decision, from campaigning and development programmes to advocacy and individual projects. Right now, we want to know more about the perception of our social development work in Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC). Over to you.
The role
A mixture of desk-based and field research, this contract will see you explore the Latin American public’s attitude towards Oxfam’s work in agriculture, food security, poverty reduction, sustainable development, natural resources and gender issues. You’ll measure perceptions across the full range of socio-economic, ethnic, sex and age groups, painting an accurate and up-to-date picture that will inform our public campaigning activities. However, the scope of your work will extend far beyond regular status reports and country analysis. The recommendations you make will highlight new priorities and drive the direction of our communications throughout the region.
What we’re looking for
An experienced researcher with a strong background in measuring attitude formation, behaviours and expectations, you’ll show exceptional communication skills and have established your ability to produce quality reports to deadlines. You’ll also be familiar with gender analysis and bring us a solid understanding of the LAC area, including fluency in both Spanish and English.
About Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
