Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

TI is the Secretariat to the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC). Held every two years in a different part of the world and overseen by the IACC Council, the Conference is the world’s most important event for all who are committed to the fight against corruption. Gathering more than 1.5 thousand participants from more than 140 Countries, the conference is a vibrant and proactive platform for innovation and change. Now in its 15th edition, the next IACC will take place in Brazil, November 2012.

MAIN FUNCTION:The International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) Series Officer supports the IACC team in coordinating all finances, logistics and hospitality related to the IACC Series including Workshop Participation Fund (WPF), VIP funds, reimbursements and the closing of IACC Conference finances.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the IACC Coordinators with administration tasks
  • Administer core elements of the overall IACC budget
  • Monitor and support IACC registration process
  • Monitor and administer the WPF and VIP fund and reimbursements
  • Monitor local expenditure in Brazil and the closing of IACC Conference finances.
  • Coordinate the funding and reimbursement of IACC Council, Programme Committee members internal participants funded from the IACC budget
  • Liaise with external conference organisers/contractors
  • Research and prepare invitations for high level plenary speakers
  • Provide logistical and hospitality support to high level plenary speakers
  • Contributing to team outreach and marketing strategy
  • Support the implementation of IACC special initiatives

Knowledge, experience and skills:

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate university degree or professional qualification in project management, social science, administration or another relevant field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience with an International NGO or International Organisation, or Multinational Organisation working on project management, business administration or another relevant field.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English, Spanish is an asset
  • An efficient and pro-active self-starter is essential for the role
  • Experience in multi-tasking and problem-solving
  • Experience in managing budgets and working with excel
  • Outreach and marketing experience is preferred
  • Excellent team player who enjoys engaging with large groups of people

TI Secretariat reserves the right to appoint to another staff level subject to education and qualifications.
