Senior Analysts

£38,707
London SW1

Analysts at the Ministry of Justice have a crucial contribution to make right across our organisation. They’re part of a wider team of 76,000 people, and use their analytical skills to help us make good policy choices, monitor progress and use a £9bn budget to the best of our ability and shape the future of the justice system in England and Wales. We’re always looking to add to their strength with social research, statistical or operational research expertise like yours.

Whether you join us as a Senior Research Officer, Operational Researcher or Senior Statistical Officer, you’d be delivering projects or analysis for policy, operational or corporate colleagues. You’ll have full responsibility for delivery to standards, and take the lead on ensuring that analytical outputs are communicated to non-analysts. You will work with customers to scope analysis and adapt it to their needs, should those change. Importantly, you will have the influence to add value to our decision making and our business.

You will manage relationships as effectively as you manage projects, and support senior analysts to ensure maximum buy-in. Part of your brief will be to advise Ministers and senior officials on the outcomes of research and analysis, and to provide guidance on analytical methods.

You should have an impressive academic record in social research, statistical or operational research. If you’re not already a member of Government social research, Government statistical services or Government operational research services, you should be able to demonstrate that you are of that calibre, and have a commitment to continuing professional development.
