Officer, Communications - Global Ocean Legacy The Pew Charitable Trusts

An opportunity to protect special places in the world’s oceans
- Highly competitive salary and benefits package
Since 2005, Global Ocean Legacy has been instrumental in securing the full protection of almost one million square kilometres of the world’s most spectacular seascapes, including more than half of the highly protected no-take marine reserves now in place.
At almost seven million square kilometres in area, the UK has the fifth largest marine zone in the world under its jurisdiction when including the Overseas Territories. The UK Government has already designated the world’s largest marine reserve in the Chagos. The goal of the Global Ocean Legacy UK team is to work with the UK Government, the governments of the Territories, local residents, and conservation NGOs to create further large-scale marine reserves in these globally important places.
The UK office is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and self-directed senior-level communications and marketing professional interested in joining our dedicated London-based team working on this extremely successful and rapidly evolving marine conservation project.
The selected individual will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive and dynamic multi-year outreach and marketing plan that promotes the establishment of marine reserves in the UKOTs, and the management of all aspects of the project’s communications and outreach.
Strong writing skills, a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in a communications role, as well as an undergraduate degree in a related field are all essential requirements for this role.
