Plymouth Law School is looking to make a senior appointment of a Professor of Law. The Law School has some 700 students on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Programmes include undergraduate law and undergraduate criminology and criminal justice studies (on professionally qualifying and non-qualifying programmes), a Graduate Diploma in Law, a Legal Practice Course, several masters programmes and doctoral study. Existing research and teaching specialisms in law include:

  • Maritime and Marine Law
  • Environmental and sustainability law
  • Socio legal studies including SOLON (interdisciplinary research network relating to the history of law, crime and punishment)
  • Legal practice
  • Criminology and criminal justice

We also have individual staff pursuing research and teaching across a wide range of law including commercial and consumer law, property law, litigation and industrial injuries and pedagogy research into law teaching.

You will have an excellent research track record and be able work independently and with others to lead, shape and raise the research profile and output of the law team, and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and developments with a relevant and complementary specialism.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
