Equally part of IEGPE, the Senior Environmental Specialist will evaluate the environmental and social component (E&S) of IFC and MIGA projects, lead teams for sector and thematic evaluations on topics such as climate change, the environment, IFC performance standards and WB safeguards; he/she will perform field validations, monitor the E&S part of project evaluation notes and summaries, and provide input to the IEG flagship report on results and performance of the World Bank Group. In addition to an advanced degree in environmental engineering or other environmental discipline, candidates should have experience in environmental management, ideally in the private sector, management capabilities in the environmental and social aspects of capital project implementation and company operations, and expertise in environmental and social assessments and audits.

All positions require an advanced university degree in a relevant field plus 5+ years’ experience on the Officer/Specialist, and 10+ years on the Senior level, as well as excellent communication skills in English. Candidates with additional language skills have a competitive advantage.
