Junk mail digital is accepting applications for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator/Architect. The candidate must be able to maintain existing web, mail, and data infrastructures. The ideal candidate will be able to take our existing infrastructure to the next level of reliability and security. Candidate must be able to do the work, document it effectively, and mentor junior administrators.
Minimum requirements
Jobseekers who lack the following experience need not apply:
• Three years minimum experience in a high-pressure Linux environment.
• Expert ability to setup and maintain the following packages:
Apache, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Varnish, MemcacheD, Heartbeat, Pacemaker crm, NGINX,
Lighttpd, Solr, FTP, Samba, TCP/IP, Tomcat, Squid, Postfix, Clam, SpamAssassin
Nagios, Cacti Graphs, DRBD, KVM Virtualisation expert, GIT and SVN version control
• Familiarity with Solr and MySQL replication, advanced networking,
* PC and server hardware support
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Must be willing to lead after-hours response for all server-related issues.
• Must have own transport
Desirable qualities
• Red Hat certification
• Microsoft Windows knowledge (for user support): XP, Vista, and Windows 7
• Able to give in-house training to junior systems administrator
• Advanced programming skills in PHP and MySQL.
• Strong database administration skills
• As you will be based in Pretoria you should ideally live in the Pretoria/Midrand/Johannesburg area.
